Avatar viewers are reacting in so many different ways including having bursts of creativity, sensuality and spirituality to despair and depression to feelings of disgust with the human race. Some viewers have reported that they have become obsessed with wanting to live on Pandora, a place where there is an energetic synergy between their people, animals and plants.
After watching Avatar, I was struck by the intense love story between two people from different worlds and my favorite line was, “All energy is borrowed and will eventually have to be given back.” I also got the message that only the strong survive, but I had no desire to want to visit Pandora where everyone either runs, climbs or fly’s everywhere. I was emotionally exhausted watching Avatar and happy to go back to my life.
Avatar is just a movie with great special effects and some moral values, so it obviously isn’t to blame for people’s reactions. But people are hungry for escapism from their mundane lives and fantasize about finding happiness outside of themselves. That’s the problem and the solution, being happy no matter what the Universe throws at you and that is a decision that you can make as easily as choosing chicken or fish for dinner.
